“Grunge Chic”
For my design I created a top made out of a maternity dress from Goodwill, and the skirt out of a woman’s coat from Goodwill. I then topstitch 36” strips of multi-patterned fabric to create a grunge look. My inspiration was the 1990s Urban/Grunge look of the youth and popular TV sitcoms.
High waisted pencil skirt (natural waist on a model; empire waist on a normal sized 2).
Machine and hand stitched, includes: two darts, one centered zipper, one vent, two front tucks, two inseam pockets.
Fabric: 100% cotton (duck fabric).
West African inspired shirt & mood board
